What owners ask before they start
The things people want settled before they hand over the number their business runs on.
Will my callers know it's an AI?
Most callers treat it like any other receptionist. It answers in a natural voice, it knows your services and your prices, and it holds a normal back and forth instead of reading a script. If someone asks directly, it tells them it is an assistant for your business and offers to put them through to you. You decide how it introduces itself.
Does it work with the number I already have?
Yes, and you keep your number. We forward your line to your receptionist, so nothing changes for the customers who already have you saved. During the build you get a separate private number to test on, and your real line stays untouched until you say go.
What happens if it cannot handle something?
It hands the call to you. On the 900 minute plan and above it transfers urgent calls straight to your phone while the caller is still on the line. On every plan it takes the caller's name, their number, and what they were after, then texts you a summary so you can call back with the details already in front of you. It never guesses at an answer.
Can I cancel?
Any time. Every plan is month to month with no contract and no setup fee. Tell us before your billing date and the next month does not run. We point your line back where it was and you keep your number.
How long until it is answering my phone?
Nine to twelve business days from the first call. That is a 15 minute audit, a one hour onboarding call where we take down your services, prices and hours, seven to ten business days of build, 48 hours for you to test it, and up to two days to forward your line.
How does it book into my calendar?
It writes straight into the calendar you already use. Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly, Acuity, Jobber and most systems that accept a calendar connection. It checks your real availability before it offers a time, so it will not double book you or promise a slot you have already filled. Calendar booking starts on the 400 minute plan.
Can it move and cancel bookings by phone?
Yes, on the 900 minute plan and above. A caller rings back on Thursday and asks to move Friday's job to Monday. Your receptionist finds the booking, changes it, confirms the new time, and updates your calendar. Finding an existing appointment and changing it is the difficult half of this. Yours does it on the call.
What does a missed call actually cost me?
62% of calls to local businesses go unanswered, and 85% of the callers you miss never call back. Run it on your own numbers. Miss ten calls a week, close a third of them, and put an average job at $400. That is around $1,300 a week walking to whoever picked up first.
What happens to my customers' information?
Recordings, transcripts and caller details are stored so you can review any call and so we can keep tuning the receptionist. We do not sell them and we do not use them to train anything outside your account. Ask us to delete a recording or a caller's details and we do it. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
Can I choose how it sounds?
Yes. You pick the voice, the greeting, how formal it is, and what it says when it cannot help. You hear the whole thing before it takes a single real call, and if the tone is off we change it. Most owners spend the better part of the onboarding call on exactly this.
My phone barely rings. Is this worth it?
The 100 minute plan is $49 a month and exists for this. It covers about one call a day. If you take four calls a week and one of them is a $600 job you would otherwise have lost, it has paid for itself for the year. If the numbers do not work for you, we say so on the audit call.
My phone rings all day. Will it keep up?
It answers every call at once. Ten people can ring at the same moment and all ten get answered, which is the part a front desk cannot do at any wage. The 2,000 minute plan covers roughly 22 calls a day. Past that we scope a custom build around how your phones are set up.
What happens if I go over my minutes?
You are billed for the extra minutes at your plan's rate, from $0.75 a minute on the 100 minute plan down to $0.55 on the 2,000 minute plan. A little over and staying put is still the cheaper month. Go far enough over and the next plan up costs less than the overage, and we tell you when you reach that point rather than letting it run.
Can I change things after it goes live?
Yes, at no extra charge. Changed your prices, added a service, hired someone, moved your hours. Tell us and we update it. That is monthly on the 400 and 900 minute plans, and weekly on the 2,000 minute plan.
How is this different from an answering service?
An answering service takes a message and passes it on. Your receptionist quotes your prices, checks your real calendar, books the job, moves it when the caller rings back on Thursday, and texts you a summary before you have put the phone down. It works at 2am and on Sunday for a flat monthly price.
Still have a question? Ask the receptionist yourself
The demo line is a real MolovoAI receptionist running for a fictional barbershop. Call it, ask it anything you would ask us, and see how it handles the awkward ones.
